Our Next Show

Our next major production will be HMS Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan.  The show tells the story of Ralph Rackstraw's hopeless love for Josephine, the beautiful daughter of the captain on whose ship Ralph works as a lowly sailor. Encouraged by his crewmates to confess his love to her, he is overjoyed when she accepts him. However, their joy is soon marred by the arrival of Sir Joseph Porter (accompanied by an army of sisters, cousins and aunts who follow him everywhere), to whom Josephine has been promised in marriage. Can Josephine overcome her natural snobbery to love Ralph truly for the man he is? How can the lovers escape the unwelcome attention of Sir Joseph and the devilish interventions of the jealous outcast Dick Deadeye? And just exactly what secret is Buttercup, the peddlar woman keeping? A secret that could change all their futures.......

The show will be performed 18th-20th February 2010 in Aberystwyth Arts Centre and if you are interested in getting involved in the production we are always keen for new members to come and join us.  The rehearsals will start at 7.30pm, 7th October 2009 in the RAFA Club, Bridge Street.
